I’ve written about sleep before on Violet Fog. So as you may know, sleep and I have a love/hate relationship.
I LOVE SLEEP. I can sleep for days. One of those people whose 20 minute naps easily turns into 2 hours. Sleeping in? No problem. Deep sleeper? You know it!
But I also have a hard time getting a rhythm down. Never really knowing when I am going to GET to sleep. Finding a schedule as been the biggest battle for me. My mind is so active at night, it’s really hard for me to calm down and slow my roll for some slumber.
I’ve been working with OLLY since the beginning of the year (the best VF sponsor ever!) but this is a tip I’ve been talking about on IG/IG stories for 2 years now. In fact, this was the first OLLY product I ever tried and just loved from the start.

Here is what I do: I take an OLLY sleep vitamin 30 minutes-1 hour before I hope to fall asleep. I time it perfectly so that I’ll get 8-9 hours. You can take two, but really one does the trick for me. As long as I get the 8 hours (and I normally do when I take this) I wake up refreshed and not groggy.
One of my roommates loves these OLLY’s, I have friends who I’ve converted. OLLY sleep vitamins work and UGH I just love them so much! They’re just sooo easy to pop one in and the assurance it gives you that you’ll better fall into sleep is just wonderful.
What I love about the ingredients is:
1. Melatonin. This is a hormone from the pineal gland- a gland from your brain. It helps regulate sleep. Increase melatonin, increase sleepiness! That’s the goal!
2. L-Theanine. This is an amino acid- an added nutrient that promotes calmness.
3. Chamomile. A daisy looking plant that is often used as a powerful herb to promote relaxation. Everyone knows that chamomile tea is the one you take when you want to wind down.
At the beginning of the year I made a pact to myself that I was going to get to bed before midnight every night. I’ve been about 90% successful which I am happy with. And honestly guys, the first two weeks I don’t think I could have done it without my OLLY sleep vitamins. Just to help me at least START a sleep schedule I could live with.
