When we made our trip to Portland earlier this year, we got the chance to explore Portland’s boutiques. I first came across Seagrape Soap at a small boutique on Division Street. I’m a sucker for tinted lip balms & I love rocking the natural: “no make up, just lipstick” look. What initially caught my eye was the high quality, natural ingredients. (I’m a TOTAL nut for products with REAL natural ingredients.) I saw they had one of my favorite shades of red: “Armour”. Upon initial inspection, it looked like it wouldn’t show up on my skin, but when I applied it- BAM- the color was all there. The look is beautiful, natural, but still fun and colorful.

I loved it so much that I reached out to the company for samples of their other products.

Seagrape Soaps is a pure, small-batch bath and body company based in Portland.

Here’s a quote directly from them:

“We like to focus on creating products that allow individuals to surround themselves with things that make them feel happy, sensual and centered.”

All products are made with oils, butters and botanicals derived from the earth. They never use synthetic dyes, preservatives, sulfates or chemicals in anything they make. I LOVE this. Often times, I’m left wondering if my skincare products are ACTUALLY good for me. Seagrape Soap’s products have a small list of easy-to-recognize ingredients. It’s so refreshing for a brand to be so clean.

Lip Balm

The lip balms are absolutely amazing. I thought “Bad Girl”, the light pink color, would not show up on my skin at ALL, but I was pleasantly surprised when it did. AND it looked BEAUTIFUL. Also, all of the colors are subtle and go well with most skin tones. When you apply the lip balm, it goes on SUPER smooth. The Bad Girl is a bit grittier than the red colors, but still applies pretty smoothly. I love using this when I travel or on no make up days. I sometimes wear it hiking because I don’t want to look like a washed out lizard in my photos. (hehe)

Soap

Ever since trying Sandra’s soap (one of our VF writers- she makes her own), I’ve been trying out different soap bars. Regular body washes tend to leave residue on your skin because they can be packed with chemicals. That’s not the case with Seagrape Soaps. The Blossom and Charcoal Detox soap bars feel and smell SO good on the skin.

Healing Balm

I use this stuff for everything: cracked elbows, dry skin, aromatherapy. It’s EXCELLENT. Keep in mind that it is a bit fragrant. The Blossom body balm goes on super smooth and leaves skin moisturized – it’s almost like Vaseline without chemicals.

Would I recommend? YES. I would definitely repurchase the lip balms and the healing balm.

Check out Seagrape Soaps on their website. Let us know if you try anything! If you’re in the Portland area, you can probably buy these products at your local boutiques.
