Have you heard of THHEEE Marlowe burger??

If you haven’t heard the hype, it’s one of the BEST burgers in San Francisco.

I know, I know. That’s a pretty bold statement to make.

But trust me, just look at this picture …

Is your mouth watering yet?

Good. I’m glad I got your attention.

So peep this:

Michael Bauer, a majoorrrrr food critic at SF Chronicle, declares that this Marlowe burger is the best he’s ever had.

“I still contend that hamburger is the best in the city. It has a bit of lamb worked into the patty for extra flavor, then it’s topped with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, bacon and shredded lettuce, and served on a toasted Acme bun slathered with horseradish aioli. The accompanying fries — triple-fried in rice bran oil — are equally good.”

It’s made with a 80/20 percent lean to fat ratio with a little lamb mixed into the patty, giving it a a bolder and earthier flavor.  The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare, just the way a good burger should be.

Although, I personally thought the buns could have been a little more toasted (I’lll make this request next time).

Not only do they do the burger well, they also kill it when it comes to their take on the shrimp cocktail.

If you have room for ANYTHING else besides the burger, you gotta get this. Trust me.

It’s my second most favorite thing here.

You get five pieces, delicately peeled but with the heads still attached for sucking. They were boldly spiced, luscious, flavorful, and perfectly cooked from head to tail. It comes with a spicy cocktail sauce with a kick of heat at the end.

PS: Squeeze the lemon juice into the sauce rather than the shrimp, because the acidity of the lemon will start to break down the meat.

Their oyster selections are super fresh. Plus, they also make a nice appetizer without taking up too much tummy space.

To sum it all up…

Marlowe is an excellent spot to check out for lunch or dinner. If you love burgers as much as I do, this place will definitely not disappoint. Even if it’s not the best you’ve ever had, it’ll be in your TOP 3 for sure.

TRUST MEE. You’ll thank me later.

Oh, and just FYI: you should def make ressies for both lunch and dinner.
