So, let’s talk green smoothie bowls.

And don’t worry, these don’t taste like kale or veggies… these actually taste fruity and AMAZING.

I make one almost every day after my workout classes. Regardless of mowing down pizza, burgers, and ice cream on the reg (Snap: CynEats)… I do make it a habit to eat healthy when I can. The only thing that was starting to get a little expensive was that we were using cold pressed juice for the base and that’s like, $9 or more per bottle! (We’ve been making these like 4X a week!)

Side: I’ve also tried using just water… and well, that’s gross. Don’t do it. lol.

So when Naked Juice (way cheaper than cold pressed) contacted us regarding their new Kale Blazer juice, we were like HECK YEAH! In reality: Sponsor us Naked Juice?! lol.

So first, our doctor blogger friend drinks them. Second, we wanted to try it as our new smoothie bowl base– if we liked it, we could totally use it for future smoothie bowls. The main thing for us being, save some money and keep it healthy! By the way… Naked Juice’s Kale twitter is pretty dang funny… kudos to their marketing team!

Spirulina Green Smoothie Recipe -4

So here’s what you’ll need for the base:

Banana (1)

A handful of veggies (kale, spinach)

Frozen mangos (mangos are NOT optional. It makes a world of a difference)

Frozen strawberries

Less than 1/3 of Kale Blazer

1 teaspoon of Spirulina (It’s 65% protein, has amino acids, and is anti-inflammatory!)

Chia Seeds (optional- but there’s TONS of healthy benefits: keeps you fuller-longer, and it helps ease the process in the bathroom… 😉


Coconut shreds


Fresh fruit (blueberries, raspberries, etc)

And whatever else you like! (Goji berries are also bomb!)

So basically, you’re drinking a smoothie with TONS of benefits-!!

So far… my smoothie bowls with Kale Blazer has turned out to be better than other bases I’ve tried (water, almond milk, coconut water, other juices). It’s very HEALTHY tasting and works even better has a smoothie base because it’s naturally thicker.

So if both health and budget is a factor for you in your diet, we highly recommend it! Especially for bases in smoothies or just to drink! You can find it here.
