I grew up in Northern California. Tahoe was a must at least 2X a year. In the summer. In the winter.
Summer being my favorite. Besides the small mountain town feels, the GORGEOUS lake, the events, the activities.. my favorite part about Tahoe are the HIKES.
But like, easy ones. Most of the time. 😉 Not always- but usually.
Dan (the boyfriend) and I did these two hikes in one day and it was so much fun. Really cool that they are within 30 minutes of each other and provide totally different views.
ARE YA READY? I’ll start with the easiest one first.
EAGLE ROCK TRAIL
It’s only 1.5 miles ROUND TRIP. So short. Easy!! And such a pretty view! You can take it slow, take it fast… whateva whateva so long as you do it!
You just park and go. It’s so straight forward.
The views at the top are SO BEAUTIFUL. There is one of the road going through the trees that looks so… not symmetrical, but- the lines in it look so cool.
It’s such a short hike- you’ll be back to the car within 30 minutes most likely. Nice if you’re looking for that kind of thing. A good idea would be bring lunch to the top!
Cascade Falls Hike
This hike will take you less than 2 hours round trip- this including time to stop and enjoy along the way. It’s tougher than Eagle Rock hike, but not actually tough. Veryyyy doable. I felt like I got a workout in but wasn’t dying by any means.
This hike overlooks Emerald Bay and takes you to these BEAUTIFUL falls that just… cascade ;)… down these giant boulders. It’s so pretty. Tons of people were getting in the water too. Too cold for me though. Noooo buddy. Not even a dip of the toe lol.
SO GORGEOUS- gotta go!
